Description
The largest marathon in the world will be back for its 55th year in 2026, with nearly 60,000 runners from all over the world competing. Amateur and hobby runners of all ages and abilities will join elite professional athletes to complete the 26.2-mile course. Cheering spectators line the course, which starts in Staten Island, continues over the Verrazzano Bridge through Brooklyn and Queens, veers into the Bronx and then down through Manhattan to finish in Central Park. Those interested in participating can find out more and try their luck in the application process here (at this stage, it is limited to running for charitable organizations).
