Description

This look at American art from 1958 to 1972 features works by more than 100 artists, including Diane Arbus, Lee David Hammons, Yayoi Kusama, Romare Bearden and Louise Bourgeois. Lesser knowns are featured as well, as the Whitney covers the broad spectrum of surrealism and how it reflected the country in the 1960s.
