Golden Theatre

Description

Longtime home to Tony Award–winning puppet musical Avenue Q—and numerous provocative shows since, including Slave Play—the John Golden Theatre first opened in 1927 as the Theatre Masque, with the debut of Puppets of Passion. The theater was renamed the John Golden Theatre in 1937 when it was purchased by Golden himself, and then did some time in the late 1940s as a cinema. It has since been restored, and with 800 seats, is now currently one of the smallest houses on Broadway.
