Randazzo's Clam Bar

Description

In the summer, there's practically a local ordinance requiring you stop into Randazzo's Clam Bar as you make your way from Queens' multiple beaches back to other parts of the City. (In the winter, there are still plenty of reasons to make the trek.) This half-century old waterfront spot will likely be packed, but it's worth the wait to consume what Randazzo's has become famous for: fresh seafood prepared nearly any way you like—including a raw bar—delicious pastas and, the pièce de résistance, a marinara so famous it's referred to simply as "The Sauce." Best of all, you can forget the manners required of dining in more precious spots. Tuck your lobster-emblazoned bib beneath your chin and dig in, as portions are generously doled out onto heaping plates.
