The Brooklyn Cyclones, the single-A minor-league farm team for the New York Mets, play in Maimonides Park on Coney Island, about an hour’s subway ride from Midtown. Their namesake nods at the nearby Coney Island Cyclone, the landmark wooden rollercoaster (which is still open seasonally, though the Astroland amusement park is closed).
